Today, when held in high esteem all healthy and natural, we are back to food additives from vegetable origin, rejecting all artificial and synthetic. Why is synthetic dyes cause many questions? Let's deal.

The topic of the influence of food colors on human health worries many experts, and every year there are more and more reasons to assert, what is the reason for this. Manufacturers are required to be more careful and responsible in the choice of food additives, used in the manufacture of their products and, special, if it is goods for children. but, coming to the store, you can more and more often find additives of synthetic origin in food products.

Synthetic dyes are the most interesting and widely demanded in the industry due to their stability., ease of use in production technology and, of course, their competitive value. At the same time, natural food colors – very unstable, and with the deterioration of consumer properties, those marketing benefits are lost, which the confectionery purchases, the label of which states the use of exclusively natural food ingredients.

The most popular artificial colors are, like azorubin (E122), yellow quinoline (E104), yellow sunset FCF (E110), charming red AC (E129), ponceau 4R (E124), tartrazine (E102). Dyes of this group are most often found in industrial confectionery., bakery products, carbonated drinks, canned products. Allergic reactions are noted among the harmful properties of pigments.,  skin diseases, dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract, hyperactivity, decreased concentration of attention. In this way, these supplements are especially dangerous for children.

Uniform Requirements for Food Additives Mandatory for Application and Compliance, flavorings and technological aids and their content in food products are set out in the technical regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 029/2012 "Safety requirements for food additives, flavors and technological aids ". In TR TS 029/2012 you can find information about the hygienic regulations for the use of dyes and the maximum level of their content in products.

In accordance with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 022/2011 "Food products in terms of their labeling" manufacturers are required to put on the product label, which contains the above dyes,  warning label: "Contains dye (dyes), which the (which) can (may) have a negative impact on the activity and attention of children ".

but, as supervisory measures have shown, conducted by specialists of the Grodno Regional Inspectorate of Gosstandart in the first quarter 2019 of the year, often it is not so.

Violation of requirements for product labeling, in particular, the absence of a warning label in the composition labeling: "Contains dye (dyes), which the (which) can (may) have a negative impact on the activity and attention of children ", established during 9 oversight activities carried out on 15 names of food products. Mostly it is confectionery (biscuit, marshmallow, sweets) imported production, as well as products of our own production, sold by chain stores (baked goods with fillings, they want).

Therefore, do not disregard the information on the product labeling., which you acquire. When choosing products, give up products in bright colors,  with bright fillings, which include, usually, synthetic dyes are present.
