Unfortunately, these means, indispensable in winter, are not always safe due to the fact, that their freezing point does not correspond to that declared in the manufacturer's marking, and also in their composition may be present methyl alcohol - a toxic substance, toxic to the nervous and cardiac – vascular system.
Gosstandart inspections during control (oversight) events in retail facilities, hazardous windshield washer antifreeze fluids are regularly detected, in which the manufacturer indicated individual properties of the product, but it cannot be identified as a product, for which it is issued: the crystallization temperature is higher than the temperature declared on the label, component is installed in the product (methanol), not declared by the manufacturer in the product labeling or its content exceeds the established norm by several times.
If detected during supervisory activities, such products are prohibited by the State Standard for import and circulation on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and are entered in the register of "Dangerous Products".
