Let's talk about gas meters

You will rarely find a home nowadays, where natural gas would not be supplied. Individual gas meters have become part of our everyday life.. Natural gas is the most convenient type of fuel and the installed gas meters are easy to use., contribute to saving the family budget. But they don't last forever, need both repair, and in verification, as a result of which the compliance of the gas meter with the mandatory metrological requirements is determined.

Buying a gas meter for their home, many owners want, to have a "nice little" meter installed in their apartment. And here buyers are advised to be more careful when choosing metering devices, so as not to face the problem of installation and further state verification, and, Consequently, do not incur additional costs.

It's important to know, what to use in gas supply systems is allowed only meters, who have passed the type approval, entered in the State Register of Measuring Instruments of the Republic of Belarus and primary verification is recognized on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Also in the passport and (or) the meter itself must bear the EAC mark and the type approval mark of the measuring instrument of the Republic of Belarus.

The Grodno Regional Inspectorate of Gosstandart, when carrying out control and supervisory measures, established violations of the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 05.09.1995 No. 3848-XII "On ensuring the uniformity of measurements", TR TS 020/2011 "Electromagnetic compatibility of technical means": for small-sized gas meters SGB-1.6, manufacturer CJSC "Schetpribor", Russia, there was no recognition of the initial verification; on household gas meters SGB-1.8, предприятие-изготовитель ООО «Элехант» Россия, и в представленном паспорте отсутствовала маркировка знаком ЕАС и знаком утверждения типа средства измерений Республики Беларусь.

Each passport for the gas meter contains information about the calibration interval of the gas meter and there is a mark about its verification. It should be noted, that the counting of the calibration interval starts from the date of the verification, and not from the date of commencement of operation of the gas meter, ie. its installation. According to the decree of the State Standard of the Republic of Belarus from 20 April 2021 , the number 39 intertesting for individual gas meters is no more than 120 months.

Be careful when choosing gas meters and be guided not only by the beauty of the meter, but with all the requirements, which are presented to them.
