Traditionally, on the first Saturday of September, Grodno celebrates its birthday. This year our city turned 896 years old. The date is not round, but events within the framework of the city holiday, organized by the Grodno city executive committee, large-scale.
Chairman of Gosstandart Elena Morgunova took part in the gala reception and festive concert, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Grodno region, and also visited the Cheese Festival and other cultural events.
City Day started on Friday, 6 September. On this day, several ceremonial events took place at different points.. But the main celebration unfolded 7 September in twelve locations at once.
Employees of the Grodno Regional Inspectorate of State Standards and their families attended the opening of the holiday “Grodno - the city of happy people”, during which the award ceremony took place, premiere of a song about Grodno; big festive concert "Grodno – city of beauty". Another gift for residents and guests of Grodno was the art festival “City Flowers”, on which the “BOOK OF WISHES” and floral installations and compositions from enterprises and organizations of the city are installed. Exhibition-fair of folk art products “City of Masters” and the XI Cheese Festival organized by OJSC “Molochny Mir”, which has already become a traditional event.
The festive program ended with a performance by the People's Artist of the Russian Federation – Stas Mikhailov and festive fireworks, as well as a dance and entertainment program from the Mir radio station.
