Red ketchup from tomatoes or dyes?
Grodno Regional Inspectorate of the Gosstandart during an inspection of one of the shopping facilities in the city. Lida identified dangerous products - ketchup of the 2nd category "Shish-kebab" marked "Tikhvin product", manufacturer LLC "Tikhvinsky uezd", Russia.
Based on the results of the check,, that the products do not meet the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union on safety: in the manufacture of these products, the food additive declared in the labeling was used - the dye E120, not suitable for use in the production of tomato sauce.
The use of E120 improves the external qualities and marketable appearance of many products familiar to us.. It gives them a natural and even color. Without it, many products would not look so attractive and appetizing.. but, technical regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 029/2012 "Safety requirements for food additives, flavors and technological aids "the use of this dye for use in the production of ketchup is not provided.
Based on the results of the inspection, an order was sent to the importer of this product to withdraw it from circulation.. Госстандартом Республики Беларусь действие декларации о соответствии на эту продукцию прекращено, and ketchup is included in the register of dangerous products.
In order to strengthen state control over the quality of food products sold, information on detected violations, sent to the Gosstandart inspection at the location of the importer, for taking measures in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
